کاربرد ضمایر مفعولی سوم شخص مفرد در زبان انگلیسی
در زبان انگلیسی، ضمایر مفعولی سوم شخص مفرد به سه شکل him، her و it هستند. این ضمایر برای اشاره به مفعول جمله استفاده می‌شوند.
him برای اشاره به پسر یا مرد، خداوند و حیواناتی که جنسیت مشخص نر دارند استفاده می‌شود.
her برای اشاره به دختر یا زن، ماشین، کشتی، کشور و حیواناتی که جنسیت مشخص ماده دارند استفاده می‌شود.
it برای اشاره به آب و هوا، دما، زمان، اشیاء بی‌جان، کودکان و حیواناتی که جنسیت آنها مشخص نیست استفاده می‌شود.
نکته مهم: ضمیر مفعولی it فقط در بافت درست معنا دارد؛ یعنی قبلا ذکر شده باشد یا برای شنونده واضح باشد که به چه چیزی اشاره دارد.

- Mrs Grey is pregnant. I saw her yesterday. (her refers to Mrs Grey)
- This is my ship. No one but me has the right to drive her. (her refers to the ship)
- I have a Ferrari. My father bought her for me 2 years ago. (her refers to the Ferrari)
- I’m from Iran. My country is very beautiful and I love her. (her refers to the country)
- This is my cat. You can call her Lucy. (her refers to the cat)

- It will be rainy tomorrow. I will enjoy it. (it refers to the rainy)
- The temperature of the laboratory is 30 degrees Celsius. How to bring it to 37 degrees? (it refers to the temperature)
- 5 am is cursed for me. I hate it. (it refers to the time)
- I have a smart watch. I use it in emergencies. (it refers to the smart watch)
- My sister is going to adopt a child. I will buy it many toys. (it refers to the child)
- Is it your dog? I love dogs like it. (it refers to the first dog)
